Tokyo--August 25, 2026--Hakuhodo DY Holdings Inc.'s Industrial Architecture Strategy Division and Corundum Systems Biology Inc., a global venture capital firm connecting the world's most advanced science with Japanese companies, will jointly host the 7th Global Deep Tech VC Seminar, part of a seminar series that supports open innovation and new business creation at major Japanese companies.
The session will feature Vikram Ramasubramanian, an investor and operator with more than 20 years of experience across venture capital, operations, strategy, and private equity and venture capital (PE/VC) advisory. Drawing on his experience leading more than 50 investments, from seed to series B, and managing a portfolio of more than 250 startups, he will examine the changes now under way in India's private equity and venture capital markets. He will look at how the market appears differently depending on sector, region, company stage and investor type, and discuss what Japanese companies should keep in mind when considering business development, investment, or collaboration in India.
The webinar is intended for professionals in corporate strategy, R&D, investment and new business development at Japanese companies who are considering business, investment, or collaboration with local partners in India.
Event Background
The Global Deep Tech VC Seminar brings on-the-ground insights from international researchers, startups and investors to Japanese companies, with a focus on applying these in new business development, investment and collaboration. Past sessions have covered themes such as global VC trends, hard tech investment and US-Japan cross-border investment.
In recent years, ties between Japan and India have deepened, and Japanese companies are paying growing attention to the Indian market. At the same time, India is a vast market where many cultures and languages coexist, which makes it difficult to grasp from the outside and prone to misconceptions. Rather than treating India as a single market, this session will break it down by sector, region, company stage and investor type, and offer practical perspectives for Japanese companies considering business development, investment, or collaboration in India.
