Message on Sustainability from the President

Working on sustainability is essential if we are to achieve our Global Purpose: “Aspirations Unleashed break down boundaries, open new doors and usher in new eras for every sei-katsu-sha, organization and society.”

In fiscal 2022, we established the cross-Group Hakuhodo DY Group Sustainability Committee and the Corporate Sustainability Division within the company, followed by the creation in fiscal 2023 of the Sustainability Steering Committee to accelerate the efforts of each Group company. Within this framework, we set up the Environmental, Social, and Governance Subcommittees to implement Group-wide initiatives.

In Environmental, we are implementing measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the supply chain as actions to meet environmental challenges including climate change. We are also working to meet the challenge of guiding the whole of society toward sustainable patterns of behavior.

In Social, toward respecting and nurturing diverse individuals, we are undertaking investment and training to empower individual employees to maximize their creativity. We are also seeking to solve social issues through the promotion of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), as well as sustained wellbeing and social contribution activities (e.g., Hasso Camp), among others.

In Governance, we are striving to ensure compliance-mindedness and respect for human rights as a foundation for all business activities, as we pursue compliance awareness and integrity.

Human-centered sustainable management is a main theme of our new Medium-Term Business Plan launched in 2024. We are working with various stakeholders to meet the challenge of generating impacts on both society and the economy with the objective of creating a better future. We are also working to create a society abounding in sei-katsu-sha’s aspirations and where they can live vibrant lives by facilitating internal and external change through ongoing initiatives, in the spirit of independence and solidarity.
