Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
In the era of diversity, there is a need to be able to imagine the lifestyles of people with completely different value systems than your own. For that reason, we believe that in the future there will be greater opportunities for us to make use of our sei-katsu-sha insight, which seeks to gain a multifaceted understanding of people. Going forward, the Group will establish working environments in which diverse human resources can play an active role and where each employee can leverage their creativity to the greatest extent possible.
Hakuhodo DY Group's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Policy
The Hakuhodo DY Group aims to create a society abounding in sei-katsu-sha’s aspirations and where they can live vibrant lives. We are an entity in which employees, each sei-katsu-sha themselves, connect with other sei-katsu-sha and society to take on a broad range of social challenges to invent the future through leveraging their own unique creativity.
DE&I is itself sei-katsu-sha insight—the DNA of the Hakuhodo DY Group—and a source of our innovation. We are thus committed to implementing DE&I throughout the Group under our management policies.
What is DE&I?
"Diversity" refers to the diverse characteristics of individuals including race, nationality, religion, beliefs, disabilities, gender, age, origin, sexual orientation, sexual identity, values and workstyles, as well as activities to respect this diversity. We respect the creativity of each employee, and view their free and autonomous expression of skills, and co-creation in teams, as the source of our value. In addition to respecting diversity and developing an accepting and inclusive organizational culture, we embrace the concept of equity, understanding the challenges facing each individual and helping each other overcome them.
DE&I Implementation Structure
In our Group, senior management provides leadership with their commitment to DE&I.
Under the Director responsible for overseeing sustainability, our Corporate Sustainability Division undertakes efforts to ensure dissemination of the Policy and advance the DE&I agenda in general as the function responsible for sustainability.

Three Initiatives for Promoting DE&I
We will implement various initiatives to realize DE&I in ways unique to Hakuhodo DY Holdings.
(1)Creating anamenable working environment that accommodates all
We are developing various systems and support measures that help all employees balance work and family life and develop their careers with peace of mind while exercising their creativity, even when also handling childcare or nursing care.
●“huug” Initiatives to Support Work–Life Balance (Hakuhodo)
At Hakuhodo, we are implementing initiatives to support the balance between work and responsibilities such as childcare and nursing care, with the goal of creating a more comfortable work environment. We have expanded a variety of systems that support employees in balancing work with their life events, such as the Kazoku Omoi Kyuka system and CREATIVE KIDS CAMP, a childcare support program during long school holidays. These initiatives are collectively branded as “huug,” and we hold regular internal events to raise awareness and encourage participation.

Various systems are in place to help employees balance their work and life plans.
(2)Promoting work that is rewarding and encourages individual success
The Hakuhodo DY Group aims to create a workplace culture in which every employee can demonstrate their abilities and feel a sense of fulfillment in their work, regardless of individual attributes.
Promoting the Activities of Female Employees
In an effort to develop an environment where female employees can play an even more active role, each of the relevant Group companies has developed a General Employer Action Plan under the Act on the Promotion of Women’s Active Engagement in Professional Life and the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children. We are working to promote women’s active engagement in professional life including through human resource development and improvement of the environment so that female employees may find and follow their own career path.

(3)Realizing a societ in which everyone plays an active role
Unconscious Bias Training
As the number of employees with diverse working styles and experiences continues to ncrease, we understand the importance of recognizing diversity and controlling biases in promotion and evaluation processes within our management. Aiming to create an organization where each employee can recognize their own biases, we are continuing to conduct unconscious bias training at each Group company.
LGBTQ+-Related Initiatives
We promote LGBTQ+ initiatives to foster an environment in which all employees of every orientation and gender can fulfill their potential.
At the core operating companies, we are improving various human resource systems, including expanding eligibility requirements for spouses, in addition to establishing consultation desks. At Hakuhodo, both in-house and external consultation desks are available, providing a structure that allows for anonymous inquiries.
